Ryan Unzicker captures MARS Racing Series title at Fairbury

In a field of 36 cars, Unzicker outran Dennis Erb Jr. in his heat race to pick up the win. Starting on the pole for the preliminary feature, Ryan dropped one spot in the 40-lap affair to finish second. He trailed Shannon Babb to the checkers with Tanner English rounding out the podium.
Just by laying down a lap in time trials on Saturday, Unzicker secured the MARS Racing Series championship accompanied by a $16,000 prize. Following the 10th-fastest lap, Ryan jumped up three spots in his heat to finish second. Starting the $15,000-to-win FALS Frenzy in seventh, Unzicker clawed forward one position in the 50-lapper to place sixth.
