Top-5 finish in Illinois State Championship at Peoria
Ryan Unzicker debuted behind the wheel of a brand new Longhorn Chassis over the weekend in Illinois and brought home a pair of Top-5’s.
On Friday at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.), Unzicker backed up a heat race win with a runner-up showing in the 20-lap feature.
For the Illinois State Championship on Saturday at Peoria (IL) Speedway, Ryan raced into the $5,000-to-win weekend finale with a runner-up heat showing. Starting on the third row, Unzicker inched forward one spot to register a fourth-place finish. He chased Dennis Erb Jr., Jason Feger, and Bob Gardner to the checkers with Frank Heckenast Jr. finishing fifth.
