Unzicker finishes second in MARS Championship chase
Ryan Unzicker’s bid for the MARS Late Model Championship concluded on Saturday with a second-place finish in the year-long point standings.
The action kicked off on Friday at Fairbury (IL) Speedway with 40 DIRTcar Late Models entered for the annual FALS Frenzy. After missing a transfer spot by one car in his heat, Unzicker advanced into Friday’s preliminary with a consolation victory. Charging from the ninth row in the feature, Ryan marched forward 11 spots in the 40-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish.
in Saturday’s $12,000-to-win FALZ Frenzy finale, Ryan was an early retire on lap 40.
Ryan finished second in the MARS Late Model Championship chase.
